This rare 35mm x 40mm Steel Patek Philippe Calatrava ref. 3574 is in exceptional condition, it’s a complete set so it comes with the original paper and box.

The 3574 was only made with steel cases from 1970 – 1974 in a few hundred examples. The Ref. 3579 combines both contemporary and 70-ies design elements, from its steel tonneau case to the silver dial which turned into a warm hue.

The 35mm x 40mm slim steel case is, as you can see on our pictures, in amazing condition. With a Calatrava-cross signed crown, a screw-down case back, a polished bezel and delicately sanded case, this vintage steel Patek breaths class and a distinguished style. The plexiglass gives the watch that special vintage vibe.

The minimalistic dial is in perfect condition and wears the applied white gold batons featuring black strips on each baton and hour- and minute hand. The dial offers a very zen reading given the lack of sweeping seconds hand.

The "Patek Philippe Genève" logo has subtle serif details, which is a typical distinctive vintage aesthetic. In particular, the accent on the "è" of "Genève" is a feature most attributed to the Patek’s earlier pieces.

This 3574 wears the Calibre 23-300, this manual wound movement was produced between 1956 and 1975, is recently fully serviced and runs great. This high-quality calibre has a compact size, because of that it was used for many Calatrava and Ellipse models. This movement beats at 21,600 vibrations per hour and has an overcoil hairspring and a free-sprung Gyromax balance.

The new and matching “Whiskey Tan” grained Tan calf strap (Molequin) is fitted with a new steel Hermes buckle.

This vintage Calatrava comes with:

-The Patek Philippe “Certificat D’origine et de garantie” confirming the movement number en reference number.
-The Patek Philippe box.
-A new steel Hermes buckle.
-A new Grained Calf strap from Molequin.

The distinguished reference 3574 is a great example of “less is more” and now an exciting find. The example we offer is a complete, vintage, sporty and steel Calatrava from the world’s greatest watchmaker, for a still relatively affordable price.

Viewings can be arranged by appointment only, in our cozy showroom surrounded by more than 70 beautiful classic cars (Bentley, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Rolls Royce, and many more) at the Cool Classic Club in Naarden, The Netherlands (15 minutes from Amsterdam).
